First edition of the Swine Health Summit LATAM addresses the future of swine production

The first edition of the Swine Health Summit LATAM, entitled “Driving the future of swine production”, was held on February 24, 25 and 26 in Cancun, Mexico. It brought together more than 100 professionals from the swine sector from different Latin American countries in a strategic space to explore the challenges and opportunities that will define the future of the industry.

The event focused on the new market trends for big companies, the new health challenges caused by Porcine Circovirus type 2 and M.hyopneumoniae, the importance of technology and intradermal vaccination, and everything there is to know about MHYOSPHERE® PCV ID explained from the field experience of several companies.

For this purpose, we counted on the participation of a panel of internationally renowned speakers, including Janice Zanella (animal virology researcher at Embrapa, visiting scientist at Iowa State University and U.S. Department of Agriculture), Maria Pieters (Principal Investigator at the Mycoplasma Research Laboratory and Director of the Swine Disease Eradication Center at the University of Minnesota), Eduardo Fano (Health Director at Pipestone), David Rosero (Assistant Professor, Iowa State University) and Albert Morera (General Manager of the swine division of Vall Companys Group), Eduardo Fano (Pipestone Health Director).

In addition, several field veterinarians from leading Latin American and Spanish companies participated in the event, together with experts from the HIPRA team, who made it possible to generate a space for knowledge and debate in which they together provided the keys to how to lead the change.
