On January 29th, HIPRA Portugal organized the annual rabbit breeders' day, which was attended by 40 professionals from the sector. During the event, various biosecurity measures necessary to prevent the entry of myxomatosis into farms were discussed, concluding with the presentation of related clinical cases.

Filipe Fontes, sales representative of HIPRA Portugal and PhD student, presented the different strategies to prevent the entry of the virus into farms, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, vector control, and sanitary barriers. His presentation highlighted the need to maintain high standards of cleanliness and to implement appropriate vaccination protocols for each epidemiological situation.

José Manuel Monteiro, a veterinarian specializing in rabbit farming, presented various clinical cases that allowed attendees to better understand how to apply biosecurity measures in their own farms. His intervention was fundamental in illustrating the practical application of the presented strategies.

The event concluded with words from Alexandre Domingues, Business Unit Manager of HIPRA Portugal, who emphasized the importance of continuous training to maintain health and productivity in rabbit farms.
